    North Arm Drive, Lake Minnetonka. Tracking on this desk spans the Prince album through the start of Controversy. Dirty Mind recorded here, Prince engineering as “Jamie Starr” — the takes cut on this desk are the versions on the album. Final mixes: Hollywood Sound Recorders, LA.

    Dr. Fink keeps the desk. Kris — a producer born in Halle — asks to buy it; Fink says no. That wait lasts ~20 years.

    Propstore, London — The Dr. Fink Collection, lot 711. Estimate £30–60,000. Closes unsold.

    Kris Vanderheyden buys it. An eight-month Prince Estate review follows — the Estate first wants it for Paisley Park.

    It lands in Walhain, the geographic centre of Belgium. Restoration begins — built to last another 50 years. VRT breaks the story 17.04.2026.
